We keep on talking about our work on the perfume brand Esse. You can find out the story behind the logo here.
This time we created visuals for different groups of fragrances and "elements" of the brand. To get the right mood, we put the packaging in atmospheric scenery: sea lagoon, desert at sunset, tropical garden etc. A total of 11 scenes were lined up for filming, visually conveying a rich selection of aromatic notes.
The specific nature of the task was that all the fragrances had same packaging. Therefore, our photos had to present the basic information about the fragrance and make its choice in the catalogue easier. We asked ourselves: how can we help a buyer to grasp the essence of the fragrance at first sight, and the main thing, to feel its mood?
The basis of our fragrances, as legend has it, is the elements. Being mixed in different proportions, they form the following groups: aquatic, fougere, sweet, floral, fruity, oriental and woody fragrances.
For each group we developed a visual composition using typical ingredients and objects evoking vivid associations. That’s why we used hot dunes for the oriental, misty haze and fireflies for fougere, coconuts and palms for aquatic fragrances. The set up for the elements was laconic flat lays, and the main emotion was delivered through color and light. The series was balanced with the previous image-building prints.
Photos were used in the website design, printed calendars, catalogues and as postcards, which you could find in each package.
